Inspiration for Anatomy Sculptures

Like many others, I have always been enamored with artists such as Isidore Bonheur, Antoine Louis  Barye and the other animalier's of the 1800's. Bonheur's Ecorche horse sculpture in particular, has been a staple for art students the world over. Bonheur's horse was the only quality animal Ecorche sculpture that was available to own outside of a museum and it's over a hundred years old. I thought it was high time to bring back the spirit of that bygone era and push it into the 21st century.

Art Objects

I've always had a love for fine art that I use on a daily basis some like to call it "functional art" I dislike that phrase it subjugates the art into a lessor category that it doesn't deserve. Just because it's not in a gallery or hanging on a wall it is in no way lessor in my mind. The impact of touching and feeling a beautiful object has more impact than looking at it alone.
